Our Story

Sydney Women’s Physiotherapy was first established at Baulkham Hills in 2010 by our founder Trisha Ching. It was a small one room clinic within the Pregnancy and Parenting Centre (previously owned by Julie Cunningham of Active Mum). At the time, we were the first exclusive women’s health and pelvic health physiotherapy service within the Hills District.

Our clinic continued to grow and in 2015 we moved premises to the Q Central building in Bella Vista, a purpose-built medical hub opposite the Norwest Private Hospital.

Our team of physiotherapists are known in the Hills District by both our patients and referrers as the physiotherapists that treat the “whole person”, both inside and outside (click here to see how we treat). Our treatment philosophy includes evidence-based treatments with hands on therapy, exercise and movement and therapeutic alliance with our patients and referrers. Sydney Women’s Physiotherapy prides itself in over 20 years of clinical experience.

In 2021, To service the extended needs of our patients and referrers, we moved to our current clinic space. This was a brand-new clinic fit out designed specifically with the consideration of the sensitive nature of the work that we do in pelvic health, as well as trauma informed care. We factored in extra sound proofing, light-filled and spacious space design, and appropriate infection control measures.

Sydney Women’s Physiotherapy has evolved over the years to also treat every ‘body’. This includes women, men, children, and non-binary. Our strong belief in providing an inclusive pelvic health service led to the co-branding of Pelvic Connections. We want everyone to know that Sydney Women’s Physiotherapy / Pelvic Connections are the experts in women’s health through all life stages and the experts in pelvic health for every ‘body’.

Our Clinic Values

The way we serve our team, patients, referrers and community over the last 14 years involves these 4 words:

C onnections: Belonging and connecting to ourselves (our body) and others is an essential part of a meaningful life. We all want to feel safe, be seen, hear and valued. Understanding these deeper human emotions and behaviours helps you and your physiotherapist develop a deeper rapport and therapeutic alliance.

A uthenticity: We want everyone to be themselves, we want to know the whole you, so we can help you achieve your goals.

R espect: Through our words and actions we respect each other’s time, each other’s spaces, boundaries, ideas.

E nergy: Our interactions are about energy giving and creating. We want to be attuned to your energy level, to guide you through the right advice and exercises.
