Are you a passionate and enthusiastic experienced MSK physiotherapist with a strong interest in Women’s Health / Pelvic Health Physiotherapist who has the confidence in managing a busy mixed caseload of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, pelvic floor rehabilitation, exercise prescription for individuals and in a group setting? 

Would you like to refine your clinical reasoning and equipment skills in using the real-time ultrasound (transperineal), rectal balloon testing and training, effective TTNS, ES prescription. Develop your skills in utilising a full pessary kit and autoclave on site to support your patient’s pelvic health needs to the fullest.

About the Clinic: Sydney Women’s Physiotherapy is a rapidly growing clinic servicing patients from the Hills District, Blacktown, Parramatta, Hawkesbury areas and beyond. Located in a multi-purpose health building and opposite Norwest Private Hospital. We have been in North West Sydney for nearly 15 years this November, we have a strong referral base from many specialists, general practitioners, other allied health professionals and exercise professionals. 

We have a number of experienced physiotherapists who specialise in the management of pelvic health conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and faecal incontinence, anorectal disorders, pelvic pain, musculoskeletal complaints, and pessary fittings. We also have a focus on post partum recovery of rectus diastasis and breast conditions management. The clinic also sees men, children and non-binary for their pelvic health concerns and we have since co-branded to Pelvic Connections, pelvic health physiotherapy for ‘everybody’.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Work collaboratively with a team of 5 experienced pelvic health, women’s health, and musculoskeletal physiotherapist (all physiotherapists have over 7 to 20 years of clinical experiences).
  •  Treat and manage your ideal patients with the best clinic set up designed specifically for women’s health and pelvic health rehabilitation.
  • Develop or contribute your skills through peer mentoring which includes, journal club, case study discussion, external practitioner lead in-services.
  • Wind down and enjoy the support of the team through quarterly lunches, biannual team days and annual end of year celebrations.
  • Our studio has full equipment Pilates set up and has the potential to establish dance base rehabilitation if you have this skill to grow the space.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

1.      AHPRA registered and have current professional indemnity insurance, full working rights for Australia, Workcover SIRA number.

2.      Minimum: 2 years’ of demonstrated knowledge and experience as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in private practice allowing you the confidence to treat a variety of MSK concerns and have developed a desire to treat around the pelvis both inside and out.

3.      Minimum 1 year experience in treating women’s health concerns, such as managing continence concerns (such as UI and SUI), pelvic girdle pain, running prenatal and postnatal exercises classes.

4.      Completed the Minimum Training of APA Women’s health / Pelvic health level 1 and 2 Part A and B or equivalent, which would have included the ability to complete an internal assessment. ****

5.      Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills

6.      This is a full-time position 38-hour week, or a minimum 3-day week (24 hours – part-time).

7.      Have a desire to excel in private practice, build your own caseload, assist the clinic to market yourself to our referrers and patients. 

8.      The duration of employment is a minimum of 2 years, we do value that you consider this role as a permanent basis to build a long-term career and working relationship with our team and referrers.  

DESIRABLE but not essential:

1.      Post graduate certificate courses (Perth, Melbourne or Adelaide) or Masters in Continence in Women’s Health course (Curtin University or Melbourne University) {completed or currently enrolled}.

2.      Yoga or Pilates training to help enhance our classes experiences. Pilates equipment trained preferred but not essential (from Polestar/DMA/ APPI)

3.      Specialise interest in other key physiotherapy areas such as Paediatric, Neurology, Sports, Lymphoedema, Running, Dance (to assist with expanding into these areas of services)
