Carrie graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Carrie pursued a career in the financial services industry, working for a global investment bank. During her studies she developed a passion for women’s health while on a student placement at Westmead Hospital and has been working in the field of pelvic health in the private practice setting since graduating.
As a senior physiotherapist, Carrie enjoys educating patients and empowering them with the knowledge and tools to achieve better health outcomes. Carrie is passionate about helping people manage and overcome their pelvic symptoms to live the life they want. Her areas of interest include treating overactive bladder, stress and urge urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, interstitial cystitis and pelvic pain.
Carrie has combined her physiotherapy skillset with Pilates and has undertaken the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Rehab course, encompassing both mat and studio equipment Pilates. She takes a whole-body approach to assessment and management of patients and understands that other health professionals and specialists are often involved in treatment.
Apart from Sydney Women’s Physiotherapy, Carrie is passionate about providing access to pelvic health physiotherapy in the community setting, working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in Redfern.
Carrie is currently undertaking further study in the field of paediatric continence.
Outside of work Carrie enjoys being outdoors with the family and friends and will jump at any opportunity to do Pilates and yoga, ride her bike, snowboard, play tennis, and go on food adventures.
